Sera Busse Named to U.S. Beach Sprint National Team

Sera Busse headed to New Bedford, Massachusetts, August 7-9 for the USRowing Beach Sprint Trials, Speed Order, and National Championships — and came home with a spot on the U.S. Beach Sprint National Team.

Racing through the Championship Women's Single bracket, Sera won her quarterfinal and semifinal before finishing second in Final A, behind Christine Cavallo's 2:27.5. She wasn't done for the weekend, though. Teaming up with Coral Kasden, Kory Rogers, and Malachai Anderson in the Mixed Quadruple Sculls trial, Sera's crew won by just 0.4 seconds — the closest finish of the event — securing the national team spot.

The selection puts Sera on the roster headed to the 2026 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, October 18-21 in Qingdao, China. This will mark her second Beach Sprint World Champs, having won silver last year in the mixed double sculls.

Full bracket results are available from HereNOW; more coverage from the weekend is up on USRowing.
