GRP Rowing Canadian Henley Preview

GRP senior and U23 athletes are headed to St. Catharines, Ontario, to race at the Canadian Henley Regatta. The week-long regatta attracts more than 2,500 athletes, with competitors ranging from juniors to masters. The opening ceremony is on August 3, with racing taking place August 4–9.

The team will compete in a variety of boat classes, including the single, double, pair, and quad. Most athletes will race multiple events throughout the week. Following a strong showing at Summer Speed Order a few weeks ago, Canadian Henley provides another opportunity for athletes to measure their speed against top competition, gain valuable racing experience, and continue building momentum through the final regatta of the summer.

For the U23 athletes, Canadian Henley marks the end of their summer training block. After racing, they will head home to prepare for the upcoming school year. The senior athletes will return to Craftsbury for a short period of downtime before training resumes as a team in September.
