Cillian Mullen U23 World Championships

Cillian Mullen will represent the United States in the women's single (BW1x) at the 2026 U23 World Rowing Championships, held July 23–26 in Duisburg, Germany.

This is Cillian's third summer with the Green Racing Project U23 team and his second time representing the United States in the single. At the 2024 U23 World Rowing Championships in Canada, Cillian finished ninth in the BW1x, and is looking to step up to a new level this year.

Cillian earned his spot on the U.S. team by winning the BW1x at U23 Trials in Princeton, New Jersey, earlier this month. He delivered a commanding performance, recording one of the fastest Competitive Standard Times (CST) of the regatta across all boat classes. Since Trials, Cillian has continued to build speed and confidence during training in Craftsbury, putting himself in a strong position heading into the World Championships.

The BW1x field features 20 entries. Racing begins on Thursday, July 23, with the preliminary heats. A strong finish will secure a favorable lane assignment for Friday's quarterfinals. The top three finishers from each quarterfinal advance to Saturday's semifinals, and the top three from each semifinal will move on to Sunday's A Final, while the remaining crews will race in the B Final.

Cillian graduated from the University of Washington this past spring and will return to Craftsbury at the end of the summer to join the Green Racing Project senior team full-time.
