GRP Row closes out 2026 World Championships

The 2026 World Rowing Championships wrapped up August 30 at the Bosbaan in Amsterdam, closing out a week that saw four Green Racing Project rowers race across two boat classes with two rowers supporting as alternates (Holly Drapp - W8+, Jesse Ryno).

Jacob Plihal - M4x

Plihal teamed with James Wright, Cedar Cunningham, and Ben Davison in the men's quadruple sculls, advancing out of their heat and into the A final on the regatta's last day. The U.S. boat sat sixth through the middle 1000 meters and made a push over the third 500 but couldn't close the gap on the field ahead, crossing in 5:45.47 for sixth place. Italy took gold. It caps a successful international summer for Plihal, who won silver in the single at World Cup II in Plovdiv and picked up bronze in the double with Cunningham and bronze in the mixed double with Emily Kallfelz at World Cup III in Lucerne — the full World Cup recap is here.

Kevin Harvell - M1x

Racing for Puerto Rico in the men's single, Harvell placed fifth in his heat in 7:57.48 and worked through the rounds into the event's F final, where he came second in 7:11.20 to close out his first World Championships in the boat.
