GRP Row Goodbyes

After the 2024 Olympic year, five GRP Row athletes moved on to other pursuits or continued their rowing journey elsewhere. These athletes were stalwart members of the Green Racing Project and of the Craftsbury community. We’ve already missed them but will always be cheering for them wherever they are.

Erin Boxberger

College: University of Notre Dame
Years on GRP: 2020-2024
What her teammates will miss about her: sense of humor, mentorship, sarcasm and story-telling, ability to build camaraderie and raise the training level on the team

Coach’s quote: “Erin came to Craftsbury with a lot of National Team experience under her belt already. She came willing to explore a lot of new things from continued small boat rowing and sculling to road cycling and rural living. Erin, known fondly as Box, went on to make additional National Teams while on the GRP and started to build out her off the water graphic design portfolio. Box now resides in the Boston area and takes on an array of design work where she creates unique, creative, thoughtful, and persuasive media.”

Ezra Carlson

College: University of Washington
Years on GRP: 2021-2024
What his teammates will miss about him: work ethic and competitive spirit, ability to cook a mean steak and his skills and help as a car mechanic

Coach’s quote: “Ezra moved a lot of boats and wore a lot of hats while he was at Craftsbury. It all started with a tryout in 2018 when he welded a storage rack for our C2 sliders and won the Fall Speed Order. Through this quadrennial, he became a PanAm champion and a member of the senior National Team. While Ezra had to lay down the boat for now to let his back heal, he hasn't put down the oars since he took up a job with our friends at Concept2.”

Emily Delleman

College: Stanford
Years on GRP: 2020-2024
What her teammates will miss about her: spirit of perseverance, capacity for hard work, ability to foster team cohesion, delightful personality, love for life and fun, and her baking skills

Coach’s quote: “Emily joined us after an illustrious career with Y Quad Cities and Stanford University. She brought loads of positivity and baked goods to the Craftsbury table, took a step with year-round training, and made the Olympics. We wish her well in whatever comes next.”

Emily Froehlich

College: Texas
Years on GRP: 2021-2024
What her teammates will miss about her: positivity, go-getter demeanor, diligent work ethic, ability to start meaningful conversations, and her compassion for teammates and local community

Coach’s quote: “Emily joined us with a certainty that she would fit into our community, and she did. She brought enthusiasm to everything she did in and outside of practice. Emily took significant steps during her time at Craftsbury and served as an Olympic spare. We wish her well with her continued pursuit of rowing at the USRowing Princeton Training Center.”

Alexander Hedge

College: Columbia
Years on GRP: 2021-2024
What his teammates will miss about him: contagious pursuit of excellence, desire to drive himself forward everyday, enthusiastic cheers for teammates, and his undeniable belief in himself and his teammates

Coach’s quote: “Alexander represented drive and perseverance. He came here as a novice sculler with limited small boat experience, but left a PanAmerican champion and Olympic spare. We also wish him well on his continued pursuit via the USRowing Sarasota Training Center.”

Daisy Mazzio-Manson

College: Texas
Years on GRP: 2022-2024
What her teammates will miss about her: enthusiasm for the little things/moments in life, infectious energy, and her competitive drive

Coach’s quote: “In some ways, Daisy came to Craftsbury not knowing everything she was getting into, but after a couple years, some pond hockey, and an Olympic berth, she really figured this place out. We wish her well as she continues her pursuit of the National Team through the USRowing Sarasota Training Center.”
