How to follow the GRP: October 9-11 weekend
GRP Row
GRP’s Paige Wheeler with her trophy after her 2025 win.
Tuxedo Regatta - Sunday, October 11 GRP Row is headed to Tuxedo Park, New York, this weekend for the Tuxedo 1886 Regatta, an invite-only, head-to-head knockout race over 1,886 meters, the year the Tuxedo Club was founded. Only two boats race at a time, the winner advances, and the bracket runs until one boat is left. Each win also raises the prize money, and the overall winner takes home $4,000.
Paige Wheeler returns as the defending champion in the women’s single after winning all three of her races in tough, windy conditions last year. Catie Castle is also back in the women’s bracket, and Matthew Skubas races the men’s single. New this year are exhibition head-to-head pairs races, and Jesse Ryno teams up with visiting rower Mike Herman in the men’s pair.
The field is a mix of National Team athletes and former and future Olympians, with eight singles in each of the women’s and men’s brackets. Rowers find out their first-round opponents at Saturday evening’s draw, and racing starts at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, on Tuxedo Lake. Follow the Tuxedo Club on Instagram (@the_tuxedo_club_) for updates from the lake.
Coastal Worlds - October 11–13 GRP's Charlotte Wiley races for Team USA at the 2026 World Rowing Coastal Championships in Qingdao, China, stroking the Coastal Mixed Double with Malachi Anderson. It's open-water racing on the Yellow Sea, with beach starts, buoy turns, 4km heats and 6km finals. GRP alum Sera Busse strokes a second U.S. double with Kory Rogers. Racing streams live on October 12 and 13. Follow at worldrowing.com
GRP Run
It’s a big holiday weekend for GRP Run. Between Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, six of our runners will be racing in four places: a road marathon in Connecticut, a 100K in the mountains above Big Bear, California, the WMRA Mountain Running World Cup Finals in Québec, and a half marathon along the Mohawk and Hudson rivers. Here’s who’s racing where, and how to follow along.
Hartford Marathon — Saturday, October 10
42.2 km | Starts 8:00am EDT at the Connecticut State Capitol
Rachel Schilkowsky lines up in Hartford. Follow her at the Hartford Marathon website.
Kodiak 100K — Saturday, October 10
101 km | 3,143 m of climbing | Starts 6:00am PDT / 9:00am EDT in Big Bear Lake, California

Défi des Couleurs / WMRA World Cup Finals — Saturday, October 10 & Sunday, October 11
MSA Uphill: 5 km | 770 m of climbing | Saturday, 12:30pm EDT
MSA Classic Up & Down: 15 km | 1,214 m up and down | Sunday, 12:30pm EDT
This year the Défi des Couleurs at Mont-Sainte-Anne hosts the finals of the WMRA Mountain Running World Cup and the Canadian Mountain Running Championships. Kasie Enman, Steve Kerr, and Rena Schwartz are all doing the double: the Uphill on Saturday, then the Classic Up & Down on Sunday. Rena comes in off a 6th-place World Cup finish at the Rollercoaster 21 in Poland this summer.
This one may have tracking, but you’ll have to speak French to find it.
Mohawk Hudson River Half Marathon — Sunday, October 11
21.1 km | Starts 8:00am EDT, finishing at Jennings Landing in Albany, New York
Finally, we’ve got our very own Phil Royer running the Mohawk Hudson River Half. Race website here.
Good luck to Rachel, Elena, Kasie, Steve, Rena, and Phil this weekend! We’ll be following along from Vermont.
GRP Snow
GRP Snow’s biathletes are in Midway, Utah, this weekend, October 10–11, for U.S. Biathlon’s International Team Trials at Soldier Hollow, the 2002 Olympic venue. The trials are two rollerski sprints, 10 km for the men and 7.5 km for the women, raced on matched rollerskis supplied by U.S. Biathlon so the results come down to fitness and shooting.
The stakes are a ticket to Europe. The top finishers from the two races, combined, earn spots on the six-per-gender team for U.S. Biathlon’s on-snow pre-season camp in November, where time trials decide the World Cup and IBU Cup rosters for the start of the season. The next group goes to an IBU Cup prep camp in Lake Placid.
Racing for GRP are Olympian Margie Freed, Bjorn Westervelt, Wes Campbell and Logan Moore [confirm]. All four came out of August’s Summer Nationals in Jericho with wins or podiums: Margie and Wes won the sprints, and Bjorn and Logan went 1-2 in the men’s mass start.
The men race first on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Mountain (11:00 a.m. Eastern), and the women race first on Sunday. Results will be posted on RaceResult through the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation’s event page.
